Amyloid Light Chain Database (AL-Base) Accepted for Publication

10.07.08 A report on AL-Base, the Amyloid Light Chain Database, has been accepted for publication in Amyloid: Journal of Protein Folding Disorders. AL-Base contains molecular information (both nucleotide and amino acid sequences) on more than 400 amyloid light chain proteins. Mr. Kip Bodi and other researchers in the Gerry Laboratory, including Drs. Tatiana Prokaeva and Lawreen Connors, the Gerry Laboratory director, have compiled research data from our laboratory and other sites into a single comprehensive database. This database contains a wealth of information for investigators who wish to test hypotheses on why certain proteins form amyloid fibrils. The resource is now publicly available to amyloid researchers worldwide.
