Thanksgiving Meal

Every year, there are students who are unable to find a community with which to share a Thanksgiving meal. This year, Marsh is opening its doors to provide a free meal and generous hospitality to meet this need. If you would like to bring food, we will gladly take it! Picture AIDS Gallery Opening

Display of the finalists from "Picture AIDS," an art competition for AIDS Activism and HIV/AIDS Awareness that is open to the entire BU community. Original artwork relating to the themes of HIV/AIDS, Human Rights and Universal Access in the following media: drawings, paintings, photography, graphic design. Prizes for top three finalists will be determined by popular vote. Artwork should be respectful and appropriate for all groups and ages. Submission deadline is November 24, 5 p.m. at the Community Service Center, 775 Commonwealth Avenue, 4th floor (GSU). As part of World AIDS Week, the art will be on display during regular office hours through December 4. Admission is free and open to the public. Info: PictureAIDS@gmail.com.

Marsh Chapel Advent Workshop

Hosted by Marsh Chapel's Servant Team, the Advent Workshop starts with Christmas tree-trimming with the Marsh Chapel Choir. Other activities include decorating ginger bread men, making wreaths, ornaments, and prayer beads, all while munching on complimentary pizza provided by the Chapel. Feel free to drop in at any time. Lip Sync Idols

Join us for an evening of lip sync IDOL style! Lip Sync Idols is a Lip Sync competition organized by Alpha Kappa Delta Phi, to promote school spirit and enhance relationship between organizations at the University. All registered student organizations are invited to participate. To enter the competition, a group with at least 5 people must be registered (not all 5 people will have to be on stage together at all times). Registration fee is $5 per performer. No audition is necessary however the deadline to register is November 30. As an audience, there is an admission fee of $5 if the ticket is purchased in advance. Each audience member will receive one vote to help determine the winner of the competition. Advance ticket sales will start on December 3 at GSU Link. Tickets will be $10 at the door. It promises to be fun event for both the performers and the audience. Info: akdphi@bu.edu.

Hanging of the Greens: Advent Workshop

In preparation for the Christmas Season, join the Marsh Chapel Servant Team in decorating the sanctuary for the holidays. Come and join us for this annual Advent tradition representing the reason for the season: cedar for royalty, fir and pine boughs for everlasting life, holly symbolizing Jesus' death and ivy representing the resurrection of Christ. It is based on the English tradition of decorating the home with wreaths, garlands, a Christmas tree, and evergreens for Advent and Christmas.
