The Union of Their Dreams
Miriam Pawel will speak about her new and groundbreaking book on the UFW, "Union of Their Dreams." The book is an unprecedented look at what brought people together in this major social struggle — told through the stories of eight activists — and the ways in which Cesar Chavez' charisma and authority both made the movement possible and weakened and destroyed its gains over time. The American Constitutional Society (ACS) together with the Department of Journalism and the Latin American Studies Program host the talk, followed by a reception.
