Boston University Center for the Study of Asia is pleased to present, in cooperation with the Geddes Language Center and the Department of Modern Languages & Comparative Literature, the Fall 2009 Japanese Film Series. Films will be screened at the Geddes Center on the fifth floor of CAS starting at 6:30 p.m. All films will be subtitled in English.
The 1997 Japanese animated historical fantasy feature film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, follows the journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse. Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest and Tataraba, a mining colony. In this quest he also meets San, the Mononoke Hime. Leading the forest animals in the battle is a human raised by wolves, Princess Mononoke. |
