Chaplain's Study I: On the Origin of Species

Recent survey data suggests that one in three U.S. citizens find themselves caught in the tension between religion and science. In the fall of 2009, the bicentennial of the birth of Charles Darwin and the sesquicentennial of the publication of his landmark "On the Origin of Species," we will read this text elaborating the theory of evolution by means of natural selection and consider its implication for religious belief and the life of faith.
