A discussion of religion in Pullman's young adult trilogy, the first book of which has been made into the film The Golden Compass, to be released by New Line Cinema on December 7, 2007. Panelists include best-selling young adult author Scott Westerfeld; Dr. Jason King, co-author of the book Killing the Imposter God: Philip Pullman's Spiritual Imagination in His Dark Matierials; Cristine Hutchison-Jones, PhD student in the Division of Religious and Theological Studies at Boston University. Moderated by Donna Freitas, co-author of Killing the Imposter God and Assistant Professor of Religion at Boston University.
