Film Screening: “Paper Lanterns” with Director Barry Frechette and Producer Peter Grilli

Paper Lanterns tells the little-known story of the twelve American prisoners-of-war who were killed by the atomic bomb at Hiroshima in August 1945. It also introduces Shigeaki Mori, a Hiroshima hibakusha who experienced the A-bomb as a child of eight, and who has devoted much of his life to preserving the legacy of the 12 American victims. Mr. Mori was personally thanked for his efforts and embraced by President Obama following the President’s historic speech at the Hiroshima Memorial Peace Park on May 27, 2016. Moving audiences at Film Festivals across the globe and winning numerous awards for film and score, Paper Lanterns was also featured at the United Nations Disarmament Conference on June 19, 2017. Producer Peter Grilli and Director Barry Frechette will be present to introduce the film and answer questions from the audience.
