Joshua Sobol is the most eminent Israeli playwright who has written over 75 plays and directed productions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Israel, and the United States. He will speak on the topic of theater as a form of resistance and a tool for survival. In this talk, Joshua Sobol explores the important role that theatre played in the Jewish ghettoes and camps during World War II. Sobol argues that theatrical expression is an efficient tool in the struggle against the dehumanization and annihilation of community.
