From Publication to Press Release

This seminar/workshop will help investigators step back and look at the work they do from the perspective of a “consumer” of biomedical research: patients, hospitals, scientific journals, companies, the general public audience. Specifically, we will help investigators think about how news about a big scientific result is generated and the role they can play in crafting the message for the media.

After the completion of the seminar, investigators will know how to define the audiences for scientific press releases, map elements of a research publication to the resulting press release and will take away a first draft of a press release for one published scientific result.

RSVP: In order to ensure small-group interaction and discussion, this event will be limited to 15participants - sign ups on a first-come, first-serve basis. RSVP to remac@bu.edu by Thursday, May 19, so that your information can be forwarded to the B-BIC team.
