We've had several thesis defenses in the Department of Biology, and many are being hooded this Friday, May 16th at 5:30 PM at the George Sherman Union, 775 Commonwealth Avenue (Metcalf Hall, 2nd floor).
In addition, graduate student Eva Fast of the Horacio Frydman lab has been selected by GRS as the student speaker for the hooding ceremony! Congratulations to Eva!
For those graduate students who have never attended a hooding ceremony, we strongly encourage you to attend to cheer on your classmates. There are no tickets to attend and there is no charge for admission. It is a lovely occasion. The ceremony itself is fairly brief, with Department of Biology faculty in attendance to hood their students, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to congratulate your classmates.
The students that will be in attendance to be hooded at the ceremony for Biology are listed below:
Elizabeth Braun de Torrez
Kathryn Kovitvongsa Mosharo
