MCLE is pleased to sponsor its 2nd Annual Legal Services Conference 2014 which brings together the Massachusetts legal aid community. Legal aid and pro bono advocates throughout the state convene to discuss the history and future of legal aid delivery systems. How do we connect with our mission as legal aid advocates? What are the next steps in the
development of the legal aid system? We discuss innovative strategies and coalition building methods and explore important aspects of legal aid work such as racial justice and community awareness.
Conference highlights include a special keynote address, which focuses on strategies for ensuring access to justice, followed by a panel on the history and future of legal services. We also offer an interactive session with judicial perspective on the legal aid system. A second keynote address is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the war on poverty.
The Conference also features breakout sessions designed to allow advocates to drill down for a closer look at the issues of coalition building, innovative legal aid strategies, and the mission of the legal aid advocate. We conclude with a plenary session on the connection between access to justice and the eradication of poverty.
