BGSA would like to invite you to a participatory workshop in public speaking skills on April 14, 2014 from 5-7pm in BRB 117 (grad lounge).
This workshop will improve your awareness of common mistakes speakers make, train your critical eye and self-reflection, and introduce exercises to release tension and develop the vocal and physical aspects of public speaking.
Please prepare a 3-5 minute “talk” to use in the exercises, ideally related to your research or some relevant area of biology.
Enrollment will be limited to ensure that all participants receive quality attention and feedback. Please respond to this email if you wish to participate.
You are also welcome to just come and learn by watching.
The workshop leaders:
Gina Alibrio graduated Emerson College in 2005 with a B.A. in Theatre Studies. She is a local singer-songwriter and musical performer.
Kristina Cohen is a 4th year graduate student in biology who previously worked as a high-school teacher and studied musical theater at Emerson College
Hope to see you all there.
