IS&T SCV Tutorial - Introduction to Scientific Python

This tutorial focuses on the basic tools used in Scientific Computing, including Numpy (fast array manipulation), Matplotlib (Matlab-like plotting), and Scipy (a bevy of numerical methods). We’ll work on a small application that compares solving Laplace’s equation using pure python to one using Numpy. Prerequisite: Taking our “Introduction to Python for Programmers” tutorial or similar experience programming in Python. This tutorial is offered twice. You can attend either of the sessions. If you try to sign up for this tutorial and find that it is full, please send email to scv-tutorial@bu.edu and we will do our best to accommodate you.
