Panelists will include: Michael Ignatieff : Michael Ignatieff is a renowned author, academic, and public servant. Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, he served as Leader of the Opposition from 2008 to 2011. His publications include Blood and Belonging, The Rights Revolution, and The Russian Album, as well as the novel Scar Tissue. He currently holds appointments at Harvard and the University of Toronto. James Johnson: James Johnson teaches in the History Department at Boston University. Formerly Assistant Dean and Director of the Core Curriculum, Johnson is the author of two prize winning books, Listening in Paris and Venice Incognito, as well as a the recipient of Boston University’s Metcalf Prize for Excellence in Teaching Edward Muir: Edward Muir is the Clarence L. Ver Steeg Professor at Northwestern and holds a Charles Deering McCormick Professorship of Teaching Excellence. President of the Renaissance Society of America, he is the author of several prize winning books, including Civic Ritual in Renaissance Venice, Mad Blood Stirring: Vendetta in Renaissance Italy, and The Culture Wars of the Late Renaissance: Skeptics, Libertines, and Opera.
