Cardiac Health Screenings

As part of our commitment to your well-being, Human Resources is pleased to offer cardiac health screenings to all Boston University employees, in collaboration with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Cardiovascular disease, also known as heart disease, is the leading cause of death in the United States. By participating in this screening, you will learn how to reduce your risk of heart disease. Screenings will be conducted at the Charles River Campus and the Medical Campus. These screenings will include tests of your: Non-fasting HDL cholesterol Blood glucose Blood pressure Body mass index Cholesterol screening requires a small blood sample which will be obtained through a fingerstick. Trained professionals from Maxim Health Systems will conduct the testing. These trained professionals will discuss your screening results with you and provide information about heart disease risk factors. Please be assured that your individual test results will be kept strictly confidential and will be known only to Maxim Health Systems and you. Please register to attend one of the screenings. You should select only one 30-minute time slot for the date and location you wish to attend. You must complete and submit a Consent Form to participate in the screening. Healthy snacks will be available, and raffle prizes including an iPad will be awarded each day.
