Lecture by Dr. Doreen Lee, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Northeastern University. Pemuda Fever, inspired by Derrida’s Archive Fever, is the theoretical argument that links nostalgia, nationalist history, and mass mobilization, to explain the drive to politics Indonesian youth experienced in their transition to Indonesian democracy. Pemuda Fever is a genealogical key as well as a political motive for the social movements that emerged at the end of authoritarianism.
