"The Day the Guns Fell Silent"

Description

Professor William R. Keylor will give a short talk on the "Xmas truce" of 1914. He will then show "Joyeaux Noel," the excellent French film about that event, when British, French, and German troops spontaneously halted fighting and instead shared Christmas Day together, amidst the shell craters and shattered hopes for a short war.
