Jewish Women's Prayer: A Secret Code

The Elie Wiesel Center for Judaic Studies cordially invites you to a lecture:

Jewish Women's Prayer: A Secret Code

Aliza Lavie, Lecturer, Department of Political Science, Bar-Ilan University

Dr. Aliza Lavie's fields of research include gender, public communications, and the world of feminine Jewish wisdom and knowledge. She scoured historical archives and private collections to uncover the forgotten manuscripts and human stories that she presents in "A Jewish Woman's Prayer Book" (2008). In her lecture, she explores long-forgotten treasures of Jewish tradition, which reveal themselves as profoundly relevant to modern existential questioning. Jewish women prayers, long relegated to the sidelines of history and heritage, will be restored to their proper place and become accessible, inspiring religious connection, communication and creativity.

Event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 617-353-8096.
