Research on South African and Botswana politics.

Co-director of three NEH summer institutes and of one Fulbright G.P.A.


Publications in a variety of formats: “How Big Is Africa?” an educational poster; “The Kenyan Kids Kit,” a set of traveling kits for elementary classrooms; “Medieval Africa”: a PowerPoint presentation (publ: Social Studies School Service, 2007); “Forget Not Our Sisters: women under apartheid,” a slide-tape show.
