Photonics Center Incubator and Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship & Commercialization graduate receives first round of venture financing. Cambridge-based ByteLight, which spun out of Boston University, has raised $1.2 million for LED bulbs that transmit indoor location information to mobile phones. The company has raised funds from individual investors and California-based Vantage Poitn Capital Partners.
