Boston University Photography owns the copyright to all images created. Any reproduction rights remain with Boston University Photography, and permission to use these images must be secured prior to publication or any other use. This is true in all cases unless specific arrangements are made in advance of the reproduction of the images. Clients are not allowed to distribute, sell, or share any images produced by Boston University Photography with any other departments, programs, or organizations.
Clients who agree to the basis license or purchase an image from the BU image collection have one-time reproduction rights and must obtain permission for subsequent use of the image. Clients who agree to the buyout license have unlimited use of the images and do not need to obtain further permission for their use for up to one year.
Copyright
Boston University Photography retains the use, copyright, and licensing to all images. You may not re-use, sell, distribute, copy, or manipulate any image created by Boston University Photography. All rights for reproduction of any image remain with Boston University Photography and any permission to use these images must be obtained prior to publication or any other use.
Exceptions are made only if special arrangements are made in advance of reproduction and use of the images. Publication in magazines, advertising, or other commercial uses may require the payment of additional fees.
Usage
All images from Boston University Photography are approved images for use and distribution by Boston University staff, faculty, students, alumni, and friends for BU purposes only. These images must be requested for use in publications, websites, and other BU-related communications. All photos must be properly captioned and credited in publications, where appropriate. You may not distribute, sell, or share any images produced by BU Photography without our prior consent.
Purchase of any images from our BU image collection is for web and publication use for Boston University purposes only. You may not share these images with other organizations or programs that are affiliated or not affiliated with BU. Any subsequent use requires approval from Boston University Photography and may result in additional charges. Publication for commercial purposes is subject to usage fees.
Photo Manipulation
Each image produced by Boston University Photography is a true representation of the University and its faculty, staff, and student body. You may not alter, change, or manipulate the content of any image from Boston University Photography in any way.
