Graduate Student Presentation Workshop
This workshop is an opportunity for graduate students to present their work and gain feedback and experience presenting papers.

Philosophy Film Group
Each meeting will begin with a 5-minute presentation of the film being viewed.  After the film is screened, the meeting will end with a short discussion focused on the philosophical attributes of the film.  Each week the discussion will be led by a different member of the group, who will commit to bring forward some initial thoughts and questions in order to steer the discussion.  Free popcorn and soda will be supplied.

Philosophy of Graphic Novels Discussion Group
The purpose of this group is to examine works of philosophic merit which have emerged from this all-to-frequently overlooked genre of literature. It is recommended that participants have at least a cursory knowledge of either the works or the philosophical issues in question.

Leibniz Reading Group
A Leibniz reading group is now being formed and we would like to invite anyone interested in the thought of Leibniz, his historical significance, and his contemporary relevance to join us in discussing these topics.

Metaphysics and Epistemology Workshop

Causation/Teleology Workshop
The main focus of the group is the philosophy of biology.  In 2005-2006 there was an explicit turn towards metaphysics.  Suggestions and volunteers on any topic that might be seen as related to issues of explanation, causation, teleology, part-whole relations, etc. are welcome.

If you have any questions, suggestions or would like to participate or give a talk, please visit: http://people.bu.edu/teleolog
