Conference for the Study of Political Thought

Political Science Department
With the support of a grant from the Boston University Humanities Foundation, the Political Science Department coordinates meetings of the Boston area chapter of the Conference for the Study of Political Thought, an international association of scholars working in the area of political theory.

Our aim is to provide a forum for the discussion of political thought that is wide enough to appeal to interested scholars, teachers and students from all disciplines -- political science, philosophy, history, classics, law, economics, sociology, etc.

For the current academic year, we have planned a series of seminars to be held at Boston University, but we hope eventually to circulate the venue within the area covered by the chapter. We will also try to facilitate political-theory news within the area and liaise with the Newsletter of the CSPT.

We hope you will be interested in this activity, and we welcome suggestions and advice. We greatly appreciate your assistance in spreading news of the enterprise; we particularly like to get names and addresses (including email addresses) of colleagues and graduate students who may be interested.

You are invited to the seminars. Previous speakers have included Patrick Riley, David Lyons, Nancy Rosenblum, John Pocock, and Joseph Cropsey.
