Our Community
The community served by the Partners in Health and Housing Prevention Research Center, and represented by the Community Committee for Health Promotion, consists of the residents of Boston’s 30 family housing developments. These developments are spread throughout the city (see map) and account for almost 10,000 housing units—about three-quarters of all Boston Housing Authority units. Individual developments range in size from fewer than 100 units to more than 1000. The families who live in these developments are ethnically diverse low-income families, and most heads of household are women.
This part of the PHH-PRC website is for the public housing residents served by the PHH-PRC, and it addresses two key questions: What would we like community members to know about the PHH-PRC ? And what can the PHH-PRC and the community do for each other?
