Potential Intern Projects
As a Global Government Affairs & Policy intern, you will engage in government affairs and public policy activities which include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting research, monitoring legislative hearings pertaining to the bio pharmaceutical industry, and writing briefs on pressing issues that could potentially affect the company;
  • attending meetings, functions, policy briefings, and a variety of other events on behalf of EMD Serono; preparing detailed summaries of meetings;
  • assisting in the development of advocacy plans that support the company’s products and core therapeutic areas;
  • assisting with updating and maintenance of the GA&P intranet and creating e- rooms for document sharing and collaboration;
  • tracking international and U.S. policy developments standing to impact EMD Serono business, assisting with the development of company policy positions;
  • assisting with internal projects and presentations pertaining to health policy; and learning about the oncology, fertility and neurology therapeutic areas and EMD Serono biopharmaceutical drug development activities

Critical Competencies and Skills for Success
Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and accurately, in addition to possessing strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. A demonstrated interest in health care is strongly desired. Graduate or first year law student preferred.
