for simple instructions on getting started with Putty, a SSH (secure
shell) client for Windows.
X-Win32

X-Win32 is an X Windows emulator licensed by BU. If you have
a PC running Microsoft Windows, then X-Win32 allows you to run
X-based applications on a remote UNIX system.
CRT

FREE WITH BU PASSWORD
Although most versions of Windows have a Telnet program included
- CRT is a more fully featured version of Telnet. See the related
tip in the configure section for more
information.
SSH
and Telnet on Macs running OS X
If you have a Macintosh running OS X , then you have built-in
SSH and Telnet clients.
NiftyTelnet
SSH for Macintosh
NiftyTelnet SSH is an SSH (secure shell) client for Macintosh
OS's prior to OS X.
BetterTelnet
for Macintosh
Older Mac OS's do not include a built-in Telnet client so if you
want one, you must download it. We generally recommend you use
an SSH client (see NiftyTelnet above) instead of a Telnet client
-- but if you can't use SSH, we support BetterTelnet.
