McAfee AntiSpyware Module

The McAfee AntiSpyware Module for VirusScan 8 is anti-spyware software site-licensed by Boston University. As the name suggests, you must have McAfee VirusScan 8 (either 8.0i or 8.5i) installed in order to use this product.

To download the spyware module, please go to the VirusScan download page and click to choose the version of VirusScan that you currently have installed (or that you would like to upgrade to). On the resulting page, you will find links to the corresponding AntiSpyware Module.

I installed it, now where is it?

The antispyware module is fully integrated into McAfee VirusScan. To see where this new module comes into play, go to your VirusScan console and double click on Scan all Fixed Disks. There you will see (on the Where tab) that McAfee will now be scanning the Registry and Cookies using the AntiSpyware Module.

Should I use other anti-spyware products too?

Yes, definitely. With anti-spyware software (unlike anti-virus software), it is fine to use several products together. Please visit the PCSC's spyware page for links to additional anti-spyware software.
