MBTA Student Semester Pass

The MBTA’s Spring Semester Pass Program allows students to pre-pay for their four monthly “T” passes (February 1 – May 31, 2010) and thereby receive approximately 11% off the regular monthly “T” pass prices.  Students who participate in the Semester Pass program will be able to pickup their passes on or after the 27th of each preceding month.  (For example, your February Passes will be available for pickup on or after January 27; just in time for its February use.)

Spring Semester Passes are provided for each of the following four months:

  • February
  • March
  • April
  • May

* Note the MBTA Semester Pass Program does not offer a January Pass

To apply for a MBTA Student Semester Pass, go online* to www.bu.edu/studentlink and click MBTA Semester Pass on the quicklinks menu. Login using your Boston University login name and Kerberos password and follow the on-screen instructions.  If you do not have a BU login name and Kerberos password, select the “Basics” tab on the Student Link and then select “Read Me First/Getting Started” for instructions.

Credit card orders (MasterCard, Visa or Discover) and the posting of semester pass charges to an applicant’s student account* (online only) are the only payment methods allowed to secure online Semester Pass purchases.  Cash, check and credit card payments are accepted at the Parking & Transportation Services office, located on the second floor of the George Sherman Union, 775 Commonwealth Avenue.  If you wish to complete a transaction in person, please complete this Spring 2010 form and bring it with you to the Parking & Transportation office with your payment.

Passes will be available for monthly pick up from the Parking & Transportation Services office, which is located on the second floor of the George Sherman Union, 775 Commonwealth Avenue, unless on-campus mail room delivery is specified.**

*You must be an enrolled full-time student to charge the Semester Pass to your student account; all other students must pay for the Semester Pass Program at the Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) office using cash, check, or credit card.  Law students are unlikely to meet the full-time class registration deadline and will therefore be required to pay to enroll in the Student Semester Pass Program at the PTS office.

** Eligible campus residents can choose to pick up their monthly passes from their residence hall mail rooms but they must apply for their Semester Passes on-line and live in an eligible University housing facility to take advantage of the residence hall mailroom pick-up option.

Note: You must provide the mailroom attendant with positive identification (Terrier Card) and sign for your pass upon pickup—the passes will NOT be placed in your mailbox.
