Parking Permits

Available permits: Green, Red, White, Brown, Carpool, Motorcycle

  • Check the various permit types to see which fits your needs.
  • Apply online for your permit under the ‘Employee Self-Service’ tab.
  • Evening instructors may obtain no-charge evening parking permits with a co-signed application from their department.
  • Review the Parking & Transportation Services brochure you receive when purchasing your permit as well as the Regulations listed on this website.
  • To update your vehicle registration information, please send an email to parking@bu.edu to inform PTS of the change and include the year, make, model, color, and registration number of the new vehicle and the vehicle it replaces, if any.
MBTA Monthly Pass

Available permits: Local Bus, LinkPass, Inner/Outer Express Bus, Zone 1A-8, Boat Pass

  • Review the different transit pass types available. While there is no discount, deductions up to $130/month are taken out pre-tax.
  • Apply for your MBTA pass online through BUworks under the ‘Employee Self-Service’ tab.
  • Retrieve your MBTA pass each month from Parking & Transportation Services. Learn more.
  • NOTE: The deadline to modify or cancel an MBTA pass order is the tenth of the preceding month.
Bicycle Permit

Available permits: Charles River Bicycle Permit

  • Register your bicycle online with Parking & Transportation Services.
  • Request access to the indoor Warren Towers Bicycle Room through the online form.
  • Review the bicycle policies available on the Bike Safety website.
Medical Campus Parking

Information about parking options on the Medical Campus is available on the separate Medical Campus Parking & Transportation Services website.

  • Boston University’s Charles River and Medical Campuses have a reciprocal parking arrangement that allows faculty and staff based on one campus to park their vehicles in designated areas on the opposite (non-home-based) campus, provided they hold one of the permit types identified below. This reciprocal parking agreement does not allow unlimited or overnight parking on the opposite campus for qualified faculty or staff permit holders. View the full agreement.
