If you are a nine-month employee or will be away from the Charles River Campus this summer,

  • You must return your Green permits to the Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) to stop your parking payroll deductions!
    • If you do not return your permit to PTS,
      • your parking deductions will continue while you are away.
      • your accumulating deductions will be held in arrears.
      • the accumulated deduction balance will be taken from your first paycheck after you return to work.

All parking permits are pro-rated on a weekly basis and therefore we encourage permit holders to return their permit on a Friday to avoid being deducted for parking that you will not use.

Parking & Transportation Services is located on the second floor of the GSU, 775 Commonwealth Avenue and the office is open weekdays from 9am to 5pm.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact our office via phone at (617) 353-2160 or send an email to parking@bu.edu.

Where will I park when construction begins on the New Balance Athletics Field and Garage?

Boston University has engaged Tetra Tech, and urban transportation and demand consulting firm, to help us develop a mitigation plan for the New Balance Field and Garage construction project that will take place in the existing Babcock Lot.

For the past 8 years, Parking & Transportation Services has been performing twice-daily activity counts of all of our parking lots and garages during weekday peak demand periods.  Based on these counts and through the elimination of overnight student parking west of the BU Bridge as well as reducing non-affiliate pay-on-entry parking, permit holders who normally park in the Babcock Lot will find adequate parking in the Agganis Arena Garage and surface Lots throughout the construction project.

The construction schedule and period of time the Babcock Lot will be out of service have not yet been determined.  FM&P is actively working with construction contractors and a schedule should be available soon.

Once completed, the New Balance Garage will contain the same number of parking spaces currently found in the Babcock Lot and the Babcock Annex Lot.  We believe this will become a significantly more convenient and dependable location as there will no longer be a loss of inventory due to snow storms and plowing.
