Tobin Memorial Bridge Goes To All Electronic Tolls
Beginning Monday, July 21, 2014 the Tobin Memorial Bridge will be going to All Electronic Tolls (AET).
There’s no need to stop to pay the toll on the Tobin Bridge. The bridge’s cashless, all-electronic tolling system was activated just after midnight Monday. The system is equipped to read E-ZPass transponders. Passenger vehicles with transponders will pay $2.50.
For vehicles without a transponder, a photo of the vehicle’s license plate will be taken, and a bill will be mailed to the address listed in Registry records. The toll for passenger vehicles is $3.
The new system is the first phase in a plan to convert all of state Transportation Department toll facilities to all-electronic systems.
