The History, Culture, and Science of Beer

  • Starts: 5:15 pm on Friday, July 17, 2015
  • Ends: 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2015
Do you make your own beer? Have you always wondered exactly how and when it was invented? Perhaps you just appreciate a cold, frosty mug of it. The Center for Interdisciplinary Teaching & Learning at BU's College of General Studies (CGS) invites you to join CGS faculty, fellow alum, and the general public for two days of discussions, tastings and more on the history, culture, and science of beer. Together, participants will explore everything from how beer drinkers are portrayed to the science behind how beer is made. You’ll get to enjoy a tasting with Backlash Beer founder Helder Pimentel (CGS 04, Questrom 06), and take a tour of Harpoon Brewery.
