Urban Seminar Series: The Open City

The Initiative on Cities Urban Seminar Series provides a forum for BU faculty to present their urban-related research to their peers, students, and practitioners. The Open City is the first installment in the Series and will focus on how cities can use open data to improve services and quality of life. A panel discussion featuring Sucharita Gopal (Professor, Earth & Environment, Boston University), Nigel Jacob (Executive in Residence at Boston University, Co-Founder New Urban Mechanics, and Urban Technologist in Residence at Living Cities) and Dan O'Brien (Research Director, Boston Area Research Initiative, Assistant Professor, Public Policy & Urban Affairs, Northeastern University) will kick off the Seminar, and continued conversation is encouraged during lunch following the panel. Admission is free, and food will be provided.
