Mayor Thomas M. Menino, professor of the practice of political science, was the longest-serving mayor in Boston’s history, as well as the president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. During his extraordinary tenure, Mayor Menino spearheaded tremendous innovation in the city’s public education system, economic infrastructure, and public health and sustainability systems.
