Nonlinear Wave-wave Interactions in Ionospheric Plasmas Caused by Injected VLF and HF Waves -- Date: Monday, April 14, 2014, 10:00 am -- 8 Saint Mary's Street, Room 339 -- Advisor: Min-Chang Lee (ECE); Committee: Joshua Semeter (ECE); Michelle Sander (ECE) -- The study of wave-wave interactions in the ionosphere is important for designing communication systems, satellite systems, and spacecraft. This thesis focuses on two nonlinear wave-wave interactions in the ionosphere: nonlinear mode conversion, and parametric decay instability.
