  • Ends: 8:00 pm on Friday, November 8, 2013
Roy Choi, maverick chef and cofounder of the wildly popular Kogi BBQ Taco Trucks in Los Angeles, comes to Boston to celebrate the release of his new book, L.A. Son: My Life, My City, My Food. “A gritty, charming, and flavorful love letter to his hometown, L.A. Son is the story of Choi’s love of food and his evolution as a chef. Choi returns to his childhood afternoons at his parents’ Korean restaurant, his nights in L.A.’s gambling halls, and his pizza-fueled studying at the Culinary Institute of America before making his way into some of the best restaurants in the United States.” Choi was born in Seoul, Korea, and raised in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and went on to cook at the internationally acclaimed Le Bernadin. Choi is the co-owner, cofounder, and chef of Kobi BBQ, as well as the restaurants A-Frame, Chego!, and Sunny Spot. Choi will demonstrate recipes from his memoir cookbook and discuss how he became the culinary sensation he is today. Join us for an evening filled with great food and bold conversation. Event includes tasting paired with wine, and a copy of the book.
