Speaker: Jacob Groshek -- Social media has had tremendous impact fueling discontent and disruption in the Middle East. But once governments topple, what role does it have in re-building? Dr. Groshek has pulled social media data from revolts in Tunisia, Brazil, Egypt and Latin America, to inform his talk on what we can expect from emerging media in facilitating democratic growth. Dr. Groshek recently joined the faculty of COM’s new graduate and PhD programs in Emerging Media Studies.
