Greetings from the Omega Women’s Leadership Center (OWLC), part of the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, located in Rhinebeck, New York. We are very pleased to let you know about a limited number of scholarships available for an upcoming workshop with New York Times bestselling author, Rachel Simmons, entitled Say What You Mean, Be Who You Are (visit http://www.eomega.org/workshops/a-workshop-for-young-women for more information on the workshop). It will be held on the Omega campus on the weekend of July 26 - 28, 2013. Scholarships cover the cost of tuition, housing, meals, and other amenities. This fun and powerful workshop gives young women ages 18 to 29 an opportunity to develop their own authentic voices by practicing assertive communication skills, risk taking, and conflict resolution. In 2012 workshop participant Jocelyn Schur’s words, “I loved the engaging ways she taught us to advocate for ourselves in our relationships. I remember writing several letters after the workshop ended because I was so eager to practice the tools she gave us to effectively communicate in challenging relationships.” Rachel Simmons, author of the New York Times best sellers, Odd Girl Out and The Curse of the Good Girl: Raising Authentic Girls with Courage and Confidence, is cofounder and program director of the Girls Leadership Institute and a consultant for the Center for Work and Life at Smith College. Anyone who is interested in applying for a scholarship should contact us by May 31, 2013 at this e-mail address: owlcscholarships@eomega.org.
