Emily Contois, a graduate student in the Gastronomy program, is the recipient of a Julia Child Award for Excellence in Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, and a jacques Pepin award for Scholarship in Gastronomy and Food Studies. She will share a paper she prepared for a conference held at Cornell University earlier this year, The Language of Food: Exploring Representations of the Culinary in Culture.
