Self-Interest Across the Social Ladder
This talk will highlight the emerging psychological science of social class, with studies showing that social class exerts a pervasive influence on the social realm, critically shaping the self-concept, morality, and social relationships. Prof. Piff will then discuss the implications of this work for economic inequality and what might be done to counteract its pernicious effects. It will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by CAS Dean Ann Cudd, with Deborah Belle (Psychological & Brain Sciences), Khiara Bridges (Anthropology and School of Law), and Raymond Fisman (Economics)
