Incurables: Relatos de dolencias y males
Join us on Tuesday, August 4 at 12 noon, for a roundtable discussion, in Spanish, of Incurables: Relatos de dolencias y males (Spanish Edition) with editor Oswaldo Estrada and contributors Mabel Cuesta, Naida Saavedra, and Carlos Villacorta. The twenty stories in this anthology center touch on the experience of disease. The stories treat a variety of ailments, whether of body, mind, or soul, experienced by a group of Latin American immigrants.
Oswaldo Estrada a fiction writer, essayist, and professor of Latin American literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mabel Cuesta is Associate Professor US Latino and Caribbean Literature at the University of Houston. Naida Saavedra is on the World Languages faculty at Worcester State University. Carlos Villacorta is Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of Maine. Carlos received his PhD in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from Boston University.This discussion will take place via Zoom. A link will be provided upon registration.
