José Luis Velasco is a full-time researcher at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (IIS-UNAM) and visiting researcher at Boston University’s Center for Latin American Studies. He is author of Complex Associative Systems: Cooperation and Diversity and Insurgency, Authoritarianism, and Drug Trafficking in Mexico’s “Democratization.” He holds a PhD in Political Science from BU.
