Radical Markets: Uprooting Capitalism and Democracy for a Just Society

E. Glen Weyl is a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research New England, where he works on political economy in the nineteenth century, interdisciplinary sense. He is visiting Yale University’s economics department and Law School as a Senior Research Scholar. With Eric Posner and Kevin Slavin he co- founded Collective Decision Engines, a start-up that commercializes a voting technique he proposed called Quadratic Voting. His joint book with Posner, Radical Markets: Uprooting Capitalism and Democracy for a Just Society, is forthcoming from the Princeton University Press in May 2018.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Alya Guseva, Associate Professor of Sociology, Boston University; Cathie Jo Martin, Professor of Political Science at Boston University and Director of the Center for the Study of Europe, Boston University; and James Rebitzer, Peter and Deborah Wexler Professor, and Chair of Markets, Public Policy, and Law, Boston University. Moderated by Ashley Mears, Associate Professor of Sociology at Boston University.
