Regional Studies

Regional and thematic studies at the Pardee School of Global Studies aim to: 1) develop and share with the public a deep knowledge of specific regions and their states, societies, cultures, languages, peoples, and environment; and 2) foster rigorous, transformative scholarship that crosses existing national, regional, and disciplinary boundaries.

Regional and thematic studies at the Pardee School are comprised BU centers and programs dedicated to the study of Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin AmericaMuslim societies, global development policy and culture and religion. With a combined faculty of nearly 200 from departments and schools throughout the University, regional and thematic studies at the Pardee School support both the growth of regional studies and the incubation of cross-regional initiatives while sharing resources and building synergies among the respective area studies programs.
