Pardee School Invites Applications for Three Faculty Positions

The Frederick S. Pardee School for Global Studies at Boston University invites applications for three new faculty positions. The Pardee School faculty is dedicated to improving the human condition through rigorous interdisciplinary education, path-breaking research and innovative initiatives to make a real-world difference in the critical challenges humanity faces.

1) Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)The BU Pardee School invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the study of International Law and International Organization. We seek applicants who focus on the impact and uses of international law in any functional areas, including (but not restricted to) human rights, development, diplomacy, security, global environment, international trade and finance, and international organization. We welcome applications from scholars in any relevant discipline, including law, political science, sociology, history, and international relations, and are open to all methodological approaches and regional specializations. Candidates who have demonstrated policy experience are especially encouraged to apply.

2) Assistant Professor (Tenure Track): The BU Pardee School invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the study of Technology and International Relations. We seek applicants whose work focuses on the impact and regulation of technology in contemporary international relations, including in international security, environment, development, commerce, communications, and human rights. We welcome applications from scholars in any relevant discipline, including international relations, science and technology studies, data sciences, political science, history, sociology, anthropology, development, and international political economy. We are open to all methodological approaches and regional specializations, but have a particular interest in candidates who incorporate data analytics in the context of social science instruction. Candidates who have demonstrated policy experience are especially encouraged to apply.

3) Professor of the Practice (Non-Tenure Track) The BU Pardee School invites applications for appointment as Professor of the Practice of Diplomacy, non-tenure track. The successful candidate will have had a distinguished career in the field of diplomacy, whether in national government or international organizations. Career diplomats with ambassadorial experience or practitioners with equivalent experience and stature are encouraged to apply. We are open to any functional or regional areas of expertise. The professor of the practice will teach courses in diplomatic practice as well as her/his areas of expertise and will also advise and mentor students pursuing professional careers in diplomacy, international organizations, or non-governmental organizations.
