Yevgeny Zvedre on “The Lessons of US-Russian Cooperation in Space”

In this lunchtime talk at the Pardee Center Conference on “The Future of Space Exploration”, Yevgeny Zvedre looks at the history of cooperation in space between USA and Russia (and the Soviet Union before that). He then discusses the potential and trajectories for such cooperation into the future. Mr. Zvedre stresses that even though the space race beween USA and the USSR is legendary, there is also much cooperation in this arena and that we are very likely to see far more cooperation in the future.

Marking the 50th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik in 1957 and the 40th anniversary of the Outer Space Treaty, this Pardee Center conference brought together leading space scientists, visionaries, and entrepreneurs from around the world to imagine the next half-century of space exploration. The conference resulted in a vision statement by the participants outlining five key areas of concern for the next 50 years.
