Summer Fellow Sahar Abi Hassan Presents Paper at LASA 2015

hassanSahar Abi Hassan, a doctoral student in the department of Political Science and a 2015 Graduate Summer Fellow at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, recently presented a paper at the XXXIII International Congress of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA), held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from May 27-30. The conference was attended by over 5,000 academic experts from a variety of disciplines focused on Latin American social, economic, and political issues. 

Her paper, titled Populist Discourse and the Remaking of the Political Opposition in Venezuela, focused on the role of the political opposition in consolidating a populist discourse in Venezuela between 2000 and 2013.
