Dr. Russell is a board certified physician in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1998 and did his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Boston Medical Center. Currently, he practices in the long term care, inpatient geriatric, and inpatient Palliative Care settings. Additionally, he is the medical director of the Boston University Physician Assistant Program. His area of scholarship centers on improving interdisciplinary team communication in the hospital setting. He is a facilitator-in-training (FIT-2) with the American Academy for Communication in Healthcare and has developed a novel intervention to improve the effectiveness of family meetings in geriatrics and palliative care.
