Information for Teachers
Welcome teachers! We look forward to hosting you
and your students at Sargent Center.
Whether you choose to stay for 2 or 5 days - or somewhere in
between - School Program is an exciting and rewarding experience
for everyone involved, and that is because we’re here to
ensure that you and your students get the most out of your time
with us.
On this page, we’ve gathered some resources that will assist
you from your earliest stages of planning throughout the duration
of your stay with us at Sargent Center. However, we encourage
you to contact us at any
time with your questions
Choosing
your lessons
Browse our array of available lessons and learn how our lessons
correlate with state curricular requirements. Use the Preliminary
Planning Worksheet to begin thinking about which lessons are right
for your group. When you meet with our instructors to discuss
your adventure at School Program, they will be happy to help you
refine your goals and choose just the right combination of activities:
Attention to detail
Meals, served buffet-style in Northern Lodge, are provided as
part of the School Program, as is lodging in our fully-winterized
cabins and dormitories. Some schools arrange for extra services,
such as an evening snack or special performance. Many groups also
choose to order School Program t-shirts as special souvenirs.
The following forms will help you organize the details of your
stay—we recommend starting with the planning timeline, which
will explain exactly what you should be planning, and when:
What to expect
Our staff will be ready and waiting to get started working with
your group at 10:30 a.m. on your arrival date. From that time,
we’ll lead you and your students through the lessons you
during the planning process. With the exception of general supervision
outside lesson periods and afternoon/evening electives, our instructors
will be responsible for each day’s events. Teachers should
come prepared to deliver elective courses as determined throughout
the planning process with our instructors.
