School Program Staff
Energetic. Professional. Inspirational. Top-notch.
These are just a few of the words that describe the Sargent Center’s
School Program staff. When your class—or your child—arrives
at Sargent Center, you can be sure that they will have the experience
of a lifetime as they explore ecology, astronomy, and biology under
the expert (and fun!) guidance of our professional educators.
Instructors
Our instructors come from around the world to share
their enthusiasm for and knowledge of the outdoors with children.
These talented
individuals collaborate with our visiting classroom teachers
to plan and deliver powerful, challenging, and memorable outdoor
lessons that introduce children to all the natural environment
has to offer.
To ensure that participants in School Program have the best possible
experience, each instructor holds multiple certifications in First
Aid, CPR, and small watercraft, and most hold degrees in fields
such as environmental science, biology, and conservation. In addition,
Sargent Center provides all staff members with ongoing training
in areas such as leadership, risk management, and child development.
Nurse
Because the health and safety of our guests is our highest
priority, there is an experienced and highly qualified nurse
on site at
all times to administer medications, address special dietary
requirements, and to ensure the general well being of all School
Program students. In the event of an emergency, there is a
nearby hospital for 24-hour on-call pediatric care.
